A funeral service for Wayne Maershbecker, 56, of Hebron, will be 2:00 p.m. CDT, Friday, June 2, 2017 at St. John UCC , Hebron with Pastor Marcy Dawson and Pastor Gaylund Olson officiating.  Burial will take place in St. John’s Cemetery


Wayne passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at his home near Hebron.


Wayne Maershbecker was born August 13, 1960 to Raymond and Claudette (Bohrer) Maershbecker. He was raised northwest of Hebron on the family farm and graduated from Richardton High School in 1978. He then went to Williston State College and graduated in 1980 with an associate’s degree in diesel mechanic. Wayne worked for Renner Implement following college until he began farming fulltime in 1986.


Wayne served on the board of directors for Farmers Elevator since 1998 and the Hebron Rural Fire Protection District since 1997 and was serving as the president since 2010.


Wayne had a love for land and animals, he was especially proud of his herd of Red Angus cattle.


Wayne is survived by his father and stepmother; Raymond and Donna (Buchmann) Maershbecker of Stanton; brothers, Kent (Angie) Maershbecker of New England, Steven (Ruth) of Hebron; nephews, Zachary (RaShell), Adam, Austin, Andrew and Jordan (Amber Machen); and great-nephew, Dawson Maershbecker


He is preceded in death by his mother, Claudette; and grandparents.


In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hebron Ambulance Service or The Hebron Fire Protection District for advanced training.


Wayne’s family would like all who attend to be dressed in jeans and a western shirt.
