Wesley Stockwell

Funeral Mass for Wesley Stockwell, 73, of Beach, will be 2:00 p. m. Friday, July 8, 2005 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Beach with Father David Richter celebrating. Burial will follow in the St. John?s Catholic Cemetery in Beach. Visitation will be Thursday, July 7, 2005 from 3:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. with a Rosary being said at 6:30 p. m. and a Celebration of Life Service at 7:00 p. m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Beach. Visitation will continue on Friday from 9:00 a. m. to 2:00 p. m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Wesley passed away Sunday, July 3, 2005 at Glendive Medical Center. Wesley E. Stockwell was born September 4, 1931 in Beach, ND, the son of Howard and Mary (Wilson) Stockwell. He grew up and attended country school until later entering the Beach School System. In 1950, he enlisted in the US Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged in January 1954. After returning to Beach, he worked for the Rohan Hardware Store and Gordon?s Bakery where he met Bonnie Parker. 0n October 18, 1954 the couple was married in Wibaux, MT. Wes then started working for the State of North Dakota as a Truck Regulation officer, and also worked for the Golden Valley County Road Department. In 1996, he semi-retired and continued to make Beach his home. Wes enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and being with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of the American Legion, the VFW, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Beach Volunteer Fire Department and the Dickinson Elks. Wes enjoyed 23 years of sobriety and was very active in AA, where he was instrumental in sharing and carrying the message to others. Survivors include his wife: Bonnie, Beach, ND; seven daughters: Deb Stockwell, Dickinson, ND; Tina Streitz, Laurel, MT; Julie Morgen, Billings, MT; Mary (Bernie) Mischel, Burnsville, MN; Terri (Dean) Binder, Deckerville, MI; Colleen Stockwell, Albuquerque, NM; Nancy (Bill) Grigsby, Grayling, MI; three sons: Wendell (Patty) Stockwell, Burnsville, MN; Kenneth (Sonia) Stockwell and Jeffery (Randi) Stockwell, all of Glendive, MT; seven sisters: Cheryl (Bruce) Ross, Beach, ND; Donna Strom, Miles City, MT; Lyla Ragar, Lodi, CA; Dee (Carl) Brown, Alexanderia, MN; Gloria Stockwell, Billings, MT; Glenice (Ted) Darwin, Caselton, ND; Sandra (Jerry) Perdaems, South Heart, ND; four brothers: Byron (June) Stockwell, Mesquite, TX; Howard (Bobbi) Stockwell and Perry (Nancy) Stockwell, all of Beach, ND; Leonard Stockwell, Detroit, MI; thrity-one grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded by his parents, and his brother: Robert.
