A funeral service for Wilbert U. Buchli, 91, of Hebron, ND will be 10:00 a. m. CDT. , Saturday, September 19, 2015 at St. John United Church of Christ in Hebron with Pastor Gaylund Olson & Pastor Bill Bradley officiating. After lunch is served, Wilbert will make his final trip to his beloved farmstead where he was born, raised and worked until retirement. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Visitation for Wilbert is from 6:00 – 8:00 p. m. CDT at St. John United Church of Christ, Hebron with a prayer service being held at 7:00 p. m. CDT. Wilbert passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Sanford Health in Bismarck surrounded by his family. Wilbert Buchliwas born March 25, 1924 in Hebron, the son of Ulrich and Maria (Neumann) Buchli. He grew up on the family farm, graduating in 1942 from Hebron High School. On February 5, 1950, Wilbert was united in marriage to Mae Metzger in Hebron. To this union three daughters were born: Bonnie, Brenda and Annette. Wilbert enjoyed life as a farmer and rancher and was very active in the Hebron community serving on the Farmer’s Union Oil Board, Hebron Farmer’s Elevator Board, Hebron Public School Board, the Hebron Hospital Board and St. John Church board serving as Elder & Deacon. Wilbert enjoyed horseback riding, snowmobiling, dancing and playing cards and games with family and friends. He especially loved attending all of his grandchildren’s sporting events. Wilbert was a loyal Minnesota Twins and Green Bay Packers fan. He was able to fulfill his bucket list and go on a helicopter ride for his 90th birthday. Wilbert was a humorous, compassionate, generous man and lived by his steadfast faith. Wilbert is survived by his wife, Mae; daughters, Bonnie Uttech, Hebron, ND, Brenda (Lyle) Voth, Hebron, ND, Annette (Dale) Wolden, Hazen, ND; 10 grandchildren, Kristi (Greg) Madler, Joshua (Camille) Voth, Jesse (Elida) Voth , Jaden (Destiny) Voth, BreAnn (Scot) Mecham, Brittney (Kody) Scharosch, Brigette Uttech, Matt (Katie) Wolden, Brady Wolden, Teah (Josh) Wolden; 7 great-grandchildren, Lexi, Mia, Mac Voth, Cambree, Brynlee Mecham, Noah, Gage Madler; and brother, Myron (Darlayne) Buchli and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ulrich and Maria; five sisters, Alma, Mildred, Esther, Elsie and Dorothy. Wilbert formed a very close relationship with his doctors, especially his cardiologist Dr. Diane Kraft. His family will be forever grateful for her love, concern, compassion and knowledge. He was always excited for his appointments with her at the clinic and thankful for all her visits in the hospital toward the end. She always brightened up his day.
