Funeral Services for William Buerkle Jr. , 91, of Peoria, AZ, formerly of Plevna and Great Falls, MT will be at 11:00 a. m. on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Baker, MT with Pastor Levi Durfey officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot in the Bonnievale Cemetery at Baker. Military rites will be accorded by the Baker American Legion, Fallon Post #35. Visitation will be 9:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. on Tuesday, September 9th, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p. m. at Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker. Bill passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at the Sun Health, Boswell Hospital in Sun City, AZ. William Buerkle Jr. , was born on June 2, 1917, a son of William and Caroline (Krueg) Buerkle near Forsyth, MT. At a young age, Bill and his family moved to the Plevna area where he grew up and attended country school through the 8th. Grade then attending Plevna high school where he graduated in 1936. Bill furthered his education, attending the Great Falls Community College for two years. After college, Bill started working for the Anaconda Copper Company and Andy?s Tire both in Great Falls. During this time he enlisted in the United States Army Air Corp in 1942, serving in the South Pacific until his Honorable Discharge in October 1945. Bill returned to Great Falls and became a partner in Andy?s Tire Shop where he remained until he retired. Bill met Martha Lang and the two were married on December 1, 1946 in Plevna, MT. To this union was born their son, Tim. Bill and Martha were blessed with God?s Love, being able to enjoy 54 years of marriage and sharing their lives with a wonderful son. Bill and Martha enjoyed fishing, camping, and get-togethers with all of their family. In 1979, Bill and Martha moved to Phoenix, AZ, where they made their home until their deaths. Bill is survived by his son, Tim Buerkle of Peoria, AZ; a brother, John Buerkle of Plevna, MT; two sisters-in-laws, Betty Buerkle and Norma Buerkle, both of Plevna, MT and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Caroline, his wife, Martha, three brothers, Fred Buerkle and Art Buerkle and an infant brother, his sister, Rose Fuchs and a sister-in-law, Lorene Buerkle.
