Growing up, he attended Buffalo #2 country school in Bowman County. Bill was baptized as a young boy in the Peace Lutheran Church in Scranton, ND. As a young man, he began working for George Kittelman at The Pellet Mill. From there, he began his life career of ranching, working for a number of ranches in Carter County, including the Joby and Jim Tom Padden Ranch. When he came to the Tie Creek area, he found home. Over the past few years, he has worked for Ronda Cordell, where he had not missed a day of work, including Sundays. Bill enjoyed mechanic work, going catfish fishing and he especially loved working with livestock, willing to help anyone who asked. He loved to spend time with his nieces and nephews, showing them how to fish. Bill loved his dog “Boozer” who came into his life a couple of years ago. They were inseparable! Boozer was with Bill all the time and on their trips to the local café, the “Boozer Burger” was a well-known dog treat. Bill spent many hours watching movies with Justin Kerr and eating chili out of the can. He was a friend to many. He will be remembered for his infectious smile and his unique giggle.
