Roger passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Fallon County Medical Complex. William Roger Fuchs was born May 23, 1948 in Baker, MT, to Wilhelm and Rosina (Buerkle) Fuchs. He grew up on the family farm 13 miles north of Plevna with his three sisters, Delores, Mary, and Eleanor. Roger attended Plevna Public grade school and high school and then went on to Western College of Auctioneering at Rocky Mountain College in Billings. Roger enjoyed breaking horses and started out by riding colts and bucket calves. He loved a good horse including Yukon and Yukon Star Socks. Roger also enjoyed a good Sunday rodeo with the cousins. There was always something brewing with the gang. He also loved a good drag race. Roger met the love of his life Paula Sieler when she was looking for a prom date. Little did she know, being a good Baptist, he didn’t dance. She overlooked that fact and on August 21, 1970, they were married at the First Baptist Church of Baker. They lived on the family farm where he helped his family farm and ranch. Here they raised three daughters, Jill, Heidi, and Kristy. Roger was a member of the First Baptist Church where he served for many years as a Deacon, Moderator, Trustee, Sunday School teacher, and Youth Group Leader. He said he guessed he wasn’t very good at any of those jobs so they kept moving him around. Roger loved to sing especially in the Plevna Baptist men’s quartet. He also served for many years on the Baker Elevator Board and as a school board member in Plevna. Roger enjoyed hunting with his dear friends from Washington, camping, reading, and fast cars. He was very artistic and enjoyed drawing, painting, and wood carving. Roger lived with terrible back pain for many years. In the fall of 2001, he was injured in a bad motorcycle wreck and life was forever changed. He finally had to give up farming and ranching. Through it all, Roger loved God and his family very much. Roger is survived by his wife Paula; three daughters: Jill (TC) Shelhamer of Plevna, MT, Heidi (Jeff) Rieger of Great Falls, MT, and Kristy Fuchs of Baker, MT; four grandchildren: Sean, Bryce, Grace, and Emma; three sisters: Delores Hickman of Hot Springs, SD, Eleanor (Roger) Aldinger of Billings, MT, and Mary Barr of Columbiaville, MI; two sisters-in-law, Lynda (Calvin) Newell of Kalispell, MT and Carole Aldridge of Abilene, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers-in-law, George Hickman, Ted Barr, and Danny Aldridge.
