Funeral Mass for Bill Giese, 69 of Dickinson will be held 9:30 a. m. Saturday, October 8, 2005 at St. Patrick?s Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father Austin Vetter celebrating. Interment will be at a later date in St. Patrick?s Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, October 6, 2005 from 1:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. with Rosary and a Vigil Service held at 7:00 p. m. , at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel and continue Friday, October 7, 2005 from 12:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. Bill lost a two-year battle with cancer on Monday, October 3, 2005 at St. Joseph?s Hospital & Health Center in Dickinson. William K. ?Bill? Giese was born on March 27, 1936 the son of William E. and Freda (Mutz) Giese of Fairview, Montana. He grew up and attended schools and graduated from Fairview High School in 1954. Bill attended Dakota Business College in Fargo and received his degree in accounting. He started his career in accounting with Manchester Biscuit Co. in Fargo, ND. After the Company relocated, Bill began working at Merchants National Bank Trust Department in Fargo. Bill married Beverly Binek, the daughter of Tony and Elsie Binek, on May 24, 1958 in Dickinson. He enlisted in the Air National Guard in Fargo in the fall of 1958 and served for six years. In 1965, Bill and his family moved to Dickinson where he worked for Harvey Babcock Accounting firm. In 1966, Bill purchased the Midget Newsstand which was located in the old Northern Pacific Depot and operated it along with doing tax preparations during the tax season. In 1971, Bill sold the Midget Newsstand and became manager for Eide, Helmeke, Boelz & Pasch Accounting Firm in Dickinson. After the firm moved the Dickinson office, Bill started Giese Tax Service which he operated until his retirement in 1998. Over the years, Bill enjoyed softball, bowling, fishing, boating, hunting and golfing. He was very active in helping his son, Pat, establish Dickinson Air Service. Bill did the accounting for Dickinson Air Service the last eleven years. He was well known at Dickinson Air Service and was given the title of ?Official Dickinson Greeter?. Bill had the mail contract from the Dickinson Post Office to the Airport which he operated for several years. Bill was a member of the St. Patrick?s Catholic Church, Elks Club, Golden Eagle of the Eagles Club, the North Dakota Society of Public Accountants, the US Treasury Department of Enrolled Agents, Kiwanis, and Dickinson Chamber of Commerce. Survivors include, his wife, Beverly, Dickinson; a daughter, Kathy Jahner, Dickinson; two sons, Michael Giese, Columbus, OH and Patrick (Lisa) Giese, Dickinson; two brothers, Dennis (Rosie) Giese, Danbury, WI and Charles (Karen) Giese, Billings, MT; four grandchildren, Erin and Matthew Jahner and Tanner and Taylor Giese. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother and an infant daughter.
