William Plagge

Funeral service for Bill Plagge, 84, of Dickinson, formerly of Killdeer will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September, 25, 2012 at Peace Lutheran Church, Dickinson, with Pastor Steve Schou officiating. Burial will follow at the Killdeer Cemetery with military rites presented by the Ezra Barrows Legion Post.


Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 24, 2012 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.


Bill passed away Thursday, September 20, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Dickinson.


William Henry Plagge was born November 10, 1927 in Dunn County, the son of Henry Plagge and Sabina Thielman Plagge. He spent his early childhood on the family farm, attending country school, graduating from Killdeer High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Army and served until 1952, when he was honorably discharged. At the early age of 11, Bill began working various jobs until 1958 at which time he became self-employed until the time of his retirement in 1990. Bill married Shirley Carlson in Killdeer on October 18, 1953. To this union, three daughters, Paige, Robbin and Kari were born. Bill, Shirley and their family lived in Killdeer, Watford City, Poplar MT, Minot and Dickinson.


Bill is survived by his wife, Shirley; two daughters, Robbin (Roger) Ott and their children Jason (Angela) Ott and Kaleb, Kyle Ott, Troy (Rose) Ott, Kari Tessmer, and her children; Sean Tessmer and Elizabeth Tessmer.


He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Paige (1994); sisters and their husbands Georgie and Herman Guimont, Helen and Raymond Fischer and infant sister Hattie Plagge.
