William Salzer

Funeral Services for William Salzer, 92, of Mandan, formerly of Hebron, will be 2:00 p. m. CDT, Monday, October 31, 2016 at Spangelo-Stevenson Funeral Home in Hebron with Pastor Gaylund Olson officiating. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery. Visitation for William will be one hour prior to the service. William passed away Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Sanford Health in Bismarck. William was born near Hebron on January 4, 1924, the son of William and Pauline (Koehler) Salzer. Growing up he attended country school and worked on the family farm. William also worked for the neighbors and later moved to Hebron when the family farm was sold. He then worked on Mr. Jose’s farm for several years and helped take care of St. John’s Cemetery. William was a very skilled handyman and enjoyed fixing and improving things around home and the farm. William eventually moved to Liberty Heights in Mandan where he lived until the decline of his health. William is survived by niece, Sandra (Herb) Kaul. He is preceded in death by parents, William and Pauline Salzer; sister, Margaret (Tom) Tkach.
