Funeral Services for William E. ?Bill? Zupanik, 75, of Baker, MT will be 10:00 a. m. on Saturday, February 13, 2010, at American Lutheran Church in Baker with Pastors Bruce & Reba Kolasch officiating. Interment will follow in the Bonnievale Cemetery at Baker. Visitation will be 9:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. on Friday, February 12th, at Stevenson Funeral Home with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p. m. in the Chapel. Bill passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday morning, February 9, 2010 at Fallon Medical Complex in Baker. William Everett Zupanik was born on March 16, 1934, the son of John and Cecelia M. (Lovec) Zupanik at the Zupanik Ranch at Knobs, MT in Southeastern Fallon County. Bill grew up on the family ranch and attended the Chimney Creek Country School through the eight grade. He then attended Sacred Heart High School in Miles City, MT. Following high school, Bill returned to the ranch where he worked with his parents. In 1956, Bill met Sandra Long of Marmarth, ND and after a courtship Bill and Sandra were married on February 7, 1957 at the Congregational Church in Marmarth. To this union Vivian, Billy, Valarie and Vicky were born. Bill and Sandra were blessed with 53 years of marriage. Following their marriage, Bill and Sandra made their home in the Knobs area where they ranched and farmed. Bill enjoyed the ranching way of life, and he especially enjoyed being around his cattle and the wide open space. In the mid 1970?s, Bill and Sandra and the family moved into Baker where Bill and Sandra made their home. Bill enjoyed visiting with people and never knew a stranger. He paid attention to what was going on and kept up on current events. What was most important to Bill was his family; his wife and his children, grandchildren and great-grand daughter. He was proud of all of them. Just two days after celebrating his 53rd anniversary, The Lord took a good cowboy home. Bill passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday morning, February 9, 2010 at Fallon Medical Complex in Baker. Bill is survived by his wife and best friend, Sandra Zupanik, Baker, MT; his children, Vivian Lubbers, Houston, TX, Billy (Debbie Upton) Zupanik, Billings, MT, Valarie Zupanik of Houston, TX and Vicky (Todd) Overton, Baker, MT; 8 grandchildren, Tiffany (James) Wagener, Tyler Coldwell, Melissa Lubbers, Dane Zupanik, Taylor Yates, Mandi Overton, Marnee Overton and Bryan Overton; his sister, Pat O?Connor, Baker, MT and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Cecelia, and his brother-in-law, Dick O?Connor.
