Willis Clark, 84, Dickinson, died Wednesday, January 28, 2004, at St. Joseph?s Hospital and Health Center, Dickinson. Masonic Funeral Services are 10:30 a. m. , Monday, February 2, 2004, at Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson with Military Rites provided by the Dickinson Veterans Drill Team. Interment will be in North Dakota Veteran?s Cemetery, south of Mandan. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Willis Clark was born November 9, 1919, in Seney, Michigan to Carroll and Elizabeth (Muhlenberger) Clark. He attended school in Dickinson and graduated from Dickinson High School. Willis then joined the CCC and later the 164th Infantry of the U. S. Army. He served and was wounded on Guadalcanal and spent 18 months in Army hospitals. Willis was honorably discharged on May 24, 1944. After his discharge, he worked for the Army Corp of Engineers testing combat vehicles for two years. On July 22, 1944, he married Alice Lillibridge in Platsmouth, Nebraska. Willis was employed with the U. S. Postal Service for 36 years. He was a member of 164th Infantry Association, DAV, American Legion, Masonic Lodge, YorkRite, Shriners, B. P. O. Elks and Odd Fellows Lodge. Willis is survived by: his wife, Alice, Dickinson; daughter, Susan Westfall, Dickinson; three sons, Terry (Nicci) Clark, Broomfield, Colo. , Bill (Cheryl) Clark, Beach City, OH, Bruce (Gail) Clark, Siren, WI; five grandchildren, Anne, Nathan and Jesse Clark, Dr. Andrew Westfall and Timothy Westfall; one great-grandchild, Jacob. He was preceded in death by: two brothers, Carroll Jr. and Robert Joseph. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to: Shriner?s Hospital, 2025 E. River Parkway, Minneapolis, MN 55414.
