Wilma passed away August 26, 2009, at the Billings Clinic in Billings, MT. The Leslie Boggs family lived in the country until 1936, when they moved to Ekalaka. Wilma attended school in Ekalaka, graduating from Carter County High School in 1945. After graduation, she went to Portland, Oregon for a short time, where her sister, Dorothy, worked in the shipyards. She returned to Ekalaka, and on October 20, 1945, Wilma married William H. (Bill) Stieg, in Miles City, MT. They purchased the Art Clocksin place, where they farmed and ranched until 1961, when they moved into Ekalaka. After they moved to Ekalaka, they ran the New Life Caf? for a time, and while there, opened the Drive-In part of the New Life. Wilma then went to work at the Mainline, first for LaVerne Records, and later for Helen Hughes. She worked at the Mainline until her retirement. Wilma was a member of the local Pinochle club for many years. She enjoyed playing cards with friends and family and visiting with folks at the Wagon Wheel. When it was time for morning and afternoon coffee, everything else took second place. She had a love for music, stemming from early days of her life when her dad played the fiddle. She loved it whenever her brother, Robert, was playing in Ekalaka, and in the last couple of years was so pleased when he and Phil Cook played at the Nursing Home. Wilma accepted the Lord as her Savior and enjoyed attending the Ekalaka Bible Church, as her health allowed. In the past couple years, she has looked forward to the church services held at the Nursing Home each week, and loved to tap her foot or clap in time to the music. She was very proud of her family, and especially loved seeing her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her bulletin boards were full of pictures of family, as well as photos of dear friends. She loved the family reunions and relived memories of traveling with family members. Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bill, her daughter, Linda, one grandson, Ryan Nies, a brother, Donald Boggs, and a sisters, Norma and Velma. She is survived by her four sons: William Duane (Diana) of Miles City, Tom (Kathy) of rural Ekalaka, Terry (Debbie) of Ekalaka, Walter (Kathy) of Billings, her grandchildren: Bill Leffingwell, Thomasene (Stieg) Hill, Jessica (Stieg) Orcutt, and Bob Stieg; Tana (Stieg) Chatmon, Ann (Stieg) Cornella, and Lisa (Stieg) Foxley; Clayton, Michael and Theresa Stieg; Ryan, Aaron and Tyler Stieg, 9 great grandchildren, and one great great grandson. Sisters, Jeanie Tauck, Dorothy Womack, and Florence Boggs, and brothers, Robert Boggs, Lawrence Boggs and Vernon Boggs, also survive her.
