Funeral service for Wilmer A. Huber, 85, of Billings, MT formerly of Plevna will be 11:00 a. m. Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Plevna, MT with Pastor Bob Burkle, Pastor Ernie Lambright and Pastor Bill Swant officiating. Interment will follow in the Community Union Cemetery at Plevna, MT. Visitation will take place from 2:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. on Tuesday, August 18th, at Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker, MT with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p. m. Wilmer passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at St. John?s Chapel Court in Billings. Wilmer Andrew Huber was born on May 18, 1924, at the Huber farm southwest of Plevna, MT, a son of George and Emma (Leischner) Huber. Wilmer grew up on the family farm and attended the Prairie Park country school and high school in Plevna where he graduated. Following graduation, Wilmer worked on the family farm. Wilmer met Irene Feiock and the two were married on May 12, 1946 at First Baptist Church in Plevna. To this union Wilmer and Irene were blessed with three children, Peggy, Colleen and Keith. Following their marriage, Wilmer worked on several farms in the Plevna area. Eventually Wilmer and Irene moved into Plevna. In Plevna, Wilmer worked at the Hepperle Station. A few years later, Wilmer went to work for Eldon Mingle at T & M Furniture in Baker. Wilmer enjoyed working with the public, and also sold insurance. Wilmer and Irene moved their girls to Billings, where Wilmer traveled around the state selling steel roofing and siding for Herman Fuchs. Wilmer and Irene moved the family back to Plevna where he purchased the Hepperle Station. Wilmer enjoyed his time at the station visiting with the customers and local farmers. Following the sale of his station he sold Pure Water distillers and Conklin products. Throughout his life, Wilmer was a salesman?s salesman. Wilmer loved the Lord, and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Plevna. Throughout his life, Wilmer served in just about every capacity there was in the church; he was a Sunday school teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, sang in the church choir and was a member of both Men?s Quartet groups. Wilmer took off several months to physically help build the present church building. Wilmer served with the Gideon?s International. Wilmer was also proud of his community, and served as the Plevna Town Treasurer, served on the Plevna School Board and was a member of the Plevna Senior Citizens. Wilmer enjoyed being around people, especially children. Wilmer is survived by his daughter, Colleen (Pastor Bob) Burkle, Yukon, OK; two grandsons, Jeff (Melissa) Burkle, Sand Springs, OK and Brian Burkle, Corn, OK; one brother, Richard Huber, Cheney, WA and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Irene Huber, his infant son, Keith Huber, his daughter, Peggy Burkle, his parents, George and Emma Huber, three infant brothers, 6 brothers, Ervin, Roy, Leon, Herb, Marion and Ted and his sister, Lorene Fried.
