Wynona O'Connor

Mass of Christian Burial for Wynona J. O?Connor, 77 of Fairview, MT formerly of Baker, MT will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 31, 2011, at St. John?s Catholic Church in Baker with the Reverend Father Thomas Tobin celebrating. Rite of Committal will follow in St. John?s Catholic Cemetery. Wynona passed away on Friday, August 26, 2011 at her home in Fairview, MT. Wynona June O?Connor was born on April 18, 1934, a daughter of Samuel and Thelma June (Sharpe) Bennett in Olympia, WA. She was raised with the help of her Grandma Sharpe after the death of her mother at the tender age of 5. She grew up in Olympia where she attended school and graduated from high school. Following graduation, Wynona worked in the Licensing Office for Thurston County. She enjoyed going to dances with her sister. It was at a dance she met Martin James O?Connor, who was stationed at Fort Lewis, WA. Wynona and Martin were married in Olympia in November of 1959. Following their marriage, they moved to the O?Connor homestead south of Baker where Wynona raised her children. A few years after Garry?s birth she took a job at Fallon County Medical Complex Nursing Home as a CNA. Wynona enjoyed helping the residents in the nursing home. In late 1996, she moved to Sidney, MT where she went to work for EastMont Home Health Care. Following her retirement, Wynona continued to care for a couple of her close friends. In 1991, Wynona met Fran G. Ereth, “Gary”. Their friendship became a relationship that kept them together until Wynona?s passing. In 2001 Wynona and Gary moved to Fairview where they have made their home. Besides caring for the needs of her clients and residents Wynona enjoyed gardening, yard work and flowers were a hobby. She loved attending train conventions with Gary over the years. She kept contact with many she met along the way. She remembered one and all. She never forgot a birthday of a loved one or friend always being sure to send a card with her best wishes. She always looked forward to her class reunions, and had only missed one. She was looking forward to seeing her classmates and friends at the upcoming reunion. She will be missed. Wynona is survived by her friend and companion, Gary Ereth, Sidney, MT, her children, Kathleen Marie (Brad) Caruso, Miles City, MT, Timothy Kevin (Lisa) O?Connor, San Antonio, TX, Carol Joanne (Carl ?Marty?) Williams, Scotts Bluff, NE, Garry O?Connor, Miles City, MT and by Gary’s children, for whom her heart was big enough to love as her own: Craig (Yong Nam) Ereth, Minot, ND, Wanda (Tim) Spaabeck, Sidney, MT, Sandi (Demcy) Davidson, Callaway, MN, Tim (Hope) Ereth, Medicine Lake, MT, Tasha (Stephen) Roness ; 23 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; her cat, ‘Bobbie Kat’; her step-mother, Margaret Elaine Lemke, WA, her half brother’s Hugh (Lynn) Bennett, Daryl Bennet and friend Supamidt Loveless, her sister Carolyn’s children: Gary, Jim, Donna Sue and Russell, and her former husband, Martin O?Connor, Baker, MT. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Thelma Bennett, Grandma Sharpe and her sister, Carolyn Lester.
