Garnet joined the Stevenson Family in September of 2010. Whether working in a restaurant while in high school and college, owning her own daycare or working for a small family owned business, ensuring everyone she comes in contact with feels comfortable and at ease has always been a top priority.
Born and raised in Dickinson, Garnet graduated from Dickinson High School and later went on to attend Dickinson State University. It was during this time that she met her husband, Lee Tisor. Garnet and Lee have been married for 16 years and together they have three children; Jessica, Logan and Morgan. Lee has worked at the NDSU Dickinson Research Extension Center for 31 years and is currently the CHAPS Coordinator. Together, they stay busy following Logan and Morgan’s sporting and school events as well as enjoying an occasional round of golf, riding horse and taking motorcycle rides with friends. With Jessica’s recent engagement to Ryan Schneibel of Fargo, there has been much excitement in the Tisor household.
Garnet feels fortunate to have her parents, Ted and Myra Klein, father-in-law, Leo Tisor, and her sister, Rozell Unruh live in Dickinson. “Life gets hectic, and having a supportive family and close friends to help share in the ups and downs in life is a gift,” says Garnet. She is a life long member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and is the Secretary/Treasurer for the Optimist Club of Dickinson where she was recently named Optimist of the Year.
Having worked with Jon and Nic personally on several occasions, when the opportunity came about to join the Stevenson Funeral Home team, it just felt right. “I feel truly blessed to be working with such kind and compassionate individuals who genuinely care about each and every person that they come in contact with,” says Garnet. “It is a wonderful atmosphere to be around on a daily basis,” she adds.
